10 Can’t Miss Creative Gender Reveals

I remember the sweet anticipation of a new baby. Wondering what they’d look like, how they’d sound, who they would grow up to be. I’ll never forget counting down the days until our 20 week anatomy scan. Know why? Because that’s when we would learn if we were having a boy or a girl! We would find out and immediately start calling everyone. If we were patient enough, we would come up with a cute little announcement photo and post it on social media. Things are different now. Better. These days, people are coming up with the most creative gender reveals and having so much fun with it!

What is a Gender Reveal?

A gender reveal party is a gathering of friends and family with the purpose of finding out the sex of a baby together. In fact, most of the time the expecting parents don’t know the sex either.

A gender reveal is separate from a baby shower. Typically gifts aren’t given; however, there are pink and blue decorations, games are played occasionally, and some type of food or dessert is usually involved. The most important aspect is the fun announcement of the baby’s gender. I’ve seen people cut into cakes that were filled with either pink or blue icing, pop confetti cannons, release colored balloons, or even hit an exploding golf ball filled with pink/blue powder! The ways to announce are endless.

I’m at that age now where my friends are pretty much done having babies. We get to celebrate with a younger generation now and it’s just as fun! My beautiful niece and her partner just had a gender reveal party of their own. It was filled with family and friends, all anxious to find out if baby Hill is a boy or girl. The pink and blue decorations were beautiful and the food was delicious.

The absolute best part, though, was seeing the joy on everyone’s face when the confetti cannons exploded with PINK confetti and powder. Oh my goodness, I’m getting sappy in my old age because just thinking about it is making me tear up all over again. I just remember that amazingly wonderful feeling of finding out a little more about that precious life you’re carrying inside of your body. Ugh…give me all the babies! (Not really. But kind of. lol)
